An interdiscipilnary team of
psychologists, computer scientists, sociologists, biologists, physicists
and mathematicians.
Prof. Andrzej Nowak - Head
Psychologist. His main interest is joining computer and social
sciences. He specializes in modelling of cognitive and social processes.
He has many scholar experiences, both in Poland and internationally. +

Prof. Marek Kuś
Physicist. His scientific interests are stochastic processes thory
and its implementation in quantum optics and condensed matter physics;
stochastic matrix theory and its implementation in description of chaotic
phenomena; chaos theory; nonlinear dynamics and quantum mechanics -
quantum chaos theory and quantum informatics. In OBUZ, his main areas of
research are implementation of nonlinear dynamics and stochastic
processes in social and biological sciences. The results of his research
have been published in more than 80 original publications. + (web

prof. Andrzej Wróbel
Neurophysiologist. His research aims at discovering the mechanisms of
attentive brain during behavioral tasks by methods of electrophysiology
and neuroinformatics. His main area of interest is change of information
processing in sensory systems due to contextual processes (eg.
attention). He is the Head of the Laboratory
of Visual System , Department of Neurophysiology at Nenecki Institute
of Experimental Biology in Warsaw
and editor of Acta Neurobiologiae Experimentalis, Neuroinformatics.
dr Wojciech Borkowski
Biologist. He specializes in simulation models in social psychology,
neural networks, linguistics, economy and evolutionary research. (web page)
dr Katarzyna Winkowska-Nowak
Mathematician. She acquired her Ph.D. degree at Florida Atlantic
University. Her
main areas of interest include implementation of complex systems methods
in social sciences. Currently she collaborates with H.-O. Peitgen (Bremen University)
and L. Liebovitch (Florida
Atlantic University)
on multimedia methods in education.
dr Tomasz Zarycki
Geographer and sociologist. (web page)
mgr Wiesław Bartkowski
Computer scientist. His research topics include human-computer
interaction, computer simulations, algorithmics, software creation
process, virtual reality and social networks. He is coauthor of merlin.pl
internet shop engine and many computer simualtion and research tools.
mgr Lan Bui-Wrzosińska
Lan Bui-Wrzosinska is a
Co-director of International Center for
Complexity and Conflict. Her interests are focused on the dynamical
systems approach to intractable conflicts. She is currently developing a
dynamical model of intractable conflicts and conducting experimental
and qualitative studies on the
dynamics of change in intractable conflicts. (web page)
MA Wouter de Raad
Graduate from Maastricht University in the Netherlands. The research is
aimed to achieve a better understanding of the process of adaptation of
people to a new or changing multicultural environment. The focus lies on
the relationship between individual behavior and general emerging
properties.
Ryszard Praszkier, Ph.D.
His main interest is induction of stable social change by social
entrepreneurs. Ph.D. thesis subject: Social entrepreneurs' operating
methods specific to dynamic and irreversible social change, as well as
the psychological conditions enabling this type of operations.
mgr
Kamil Rakocy
Sociologist.
He specializes in complex systems research - especially in analysis of
the dynamics of spatial, socio-economical phenomena by computer modeling
(networks / cellular automata) and social network analysis. His research
also includes game theory - mathematical and sociological approach to
evolutionary cooperation theory. Out of the scientific field, his
interest include classical music, bridge, chess, mountain hiking and
kayaking.
Mgr Agnieszka Rychwalska
- student affairs coordinator
Psychologist. Areas of research include: consciousness and its neural
correlates, integration of sensual information in the brain, neuronal
synchronization - in vivo research and computer simulations and more
generally: cognitive neuroscience, neurophysiology and neural basis of
memory formation. Her hobbies are sleddog sports and cycling.
mgr Agata Zabłocka-Bursa
Psychologist. Her scientific
interests circle around social entrepreneurship. She is specifically
interested in the role of social innovators in accumulation of social
capital and positive social change. She is also experienced in statistics
and psychometric. Her hobbies are yachting and mountain hiking.
mgr Jan Zając
Psychologist. His interests are centered on psycho-social aspects of the
internet. Other research areas include: social psychology, political and
intercultural psychology and human resources management.
